Process:

We were approached to recreate a real life Venus flytrap for the new CD cover and inserts for the new Leftfield album.

Using a real Venus flytrap as reference we used Lightwave to create a menacing, industrial, metallic flytrap, beautifully lit for the CD/DVD cover and inserts. Once the base model was built somewhere in the region of thirty separate renders with various camera angles and lighting were produced before the most effective and interesting set-up was established. The model used for the still image was then imported straight into Maya for our tv post-production team to use in producing the promo video.
